JOY: Dances for Midwinter

This December, the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble will perform excerpts from Charles Weidman’s “Christmas Oratorio,” choreographed to the Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach. Gail Corbin, director of DHF, will oversee the reconstruction.

“Christmas Oratorio” will be part of a program titled “JOY: Dances for Midwinter,” performed at Stone Circle Theater in Ridgewood, NY, December 23 & 13, 2024, at 7pm. Also on the program: Ballade (music by Scriabin) and Prelude (music by Rachmaninoff) by Anna Sokolow, an excerpt from Schubert and the Birds by Claudia Gitelman (music by Schuman), and the premiere of a duet choreographed by company members Margaret Brackey and Krista Jansen.
